Meet Alvin Lee

Hi! I’m Alvin.

As the face behind Bionic Amigo, I build custom, small business websites that are as friendly and hardworking as the people they represent.

I’m a website developer, a coder, and (when I’m not working) a para-athlete, and I live in Vancouver, BC. I’ve always been interested in computers, I’ve always been creative, and I love how web design lets me flex both my creative and my technical skills.

Alvin’s Story

I was born with cerebral palsy and in 2001, I had my right leg amputated above the knee. After my injury, I developed a passion for para-athletics and other adaptive sports. For me, they weren’t just a way to stay active, they were a way to find out how far I could push myself. I went on to compete in para-swimming and wheelchair racing, and I participated in many other sports, like sit-skiing and para-rowing. I’m now retired from competitive sport, but I still love swimming.

I believe there’s always a way to reach your goal if you’re flexible, methodical, and you keep moving until you get there. When faced with a challenge, I’ve always been one to adapt and problem-solve. This ‘find a way’ mentality has become my approach to both life and design.
